The most popular PATC cabin, Glass House is located in the north end of Fort Valley in the Massanutten Mountains. Willed to the PATC by geologist Jewell Glass, the stone home’s screened porch overlooks a stunning view of the mountains. Access the cabin from the adjacent parking area. No hike-in is required, unless inclement conditions prevent the use of the driveway. There, you will find a fully-equipped, charming kitchen and dining area, a bathroom, and a bunkroom with 3 double-deck bunks and 2 bunks. Hikers can take advantage of the extensive trail system in the Elizabeth Furnace area.
Note 1:
Due to water quality concerns, renters should plan to bring their own cooking and drinking water.
Note 2: Beginning December 2020, pets will no longer be permitted at Glass House.
For more information on this and other PATC cabins, we recommend acquiring and reading a copy of our PATC Cabins Book.
