PATC has several chapter groups across it's territories that host events, workshops, hike meetups, and more. We have two special sections as well; The Mountaineering Sections and the Ski-Touring Section. These groups provide access and opportunities for PATC members and the public to get involved in climbing and skiing, through trips, meetups, and classes.
Chapters
PATC currently has four chapters. PATC supports a large geographical area making it difficult to focus on specified remote areas. Chapters were formed to focus on specific areas. The chapters serve most of the same functions as PATC, including trail maintenance, hikes and outreach. PATC Chapters have their own leadership, have their own events and coordinate events with parent PATC functions.
PATC Chapters need the same skills as the parent organization (PATC). Trail maintenance, hike leadership, chapter leadership and outreach skills are all needed to support the chapters.
PATC chapters are subject to all the policies as the parent organization, including safety, reporting and membership. Participating in a chapter does not prevent a volunteer from participating in and other PATC function or role.
Special Sections
PATC has two special sections of the club. The Mountaineering Section operates as a rock climbing group that provides educational experiences, trips, and meetups. They organize their own volunteer efforts around different climbing areas and gyms, participating in community outreach, clean-up efforts, and more. Reach out to the Mountaineering Section directly to volunteer.
The Ski Touring Section is a ski-touring group that hosts events, meetups, and trips for those interested in ski sports. They are always looking for more folks to organize and lead trips and help out with their educational events. Reach out to the Ski Touring Section directly to volunteer.
