About the Cabin

This one-room, primitive cabin is located on Calf Mountain, near Crozet, VA. PATC’s acquisition of this property in 2019 allowed for the preservation of the AT viewshed along Calf Mountain. Access the cabin by a 0.8 mile hike-in from parking. Guests with high clearance, AWD vehicles will have the option to drive up to the cabin. There, you will find a large deck and covered porch with a fully renovated interior, equipped with a wood stove, a small kitchen for food preparation, two double-deck bunks and a double futon. Large windows and ample exterior living space look out on a verdant, wooded property. Hikers can access the AT or take a short drive to various recreational opportunities in the area, such as the Blue Ridge Tunnel Trail at Rockfish Gap
