About the Cabin

This one-room, stone cabin is located in the North District of SNP, near the Matthews Arm Campground. Operated as a concessionaire by PATC for SNP, the cabin has a covered porch with an outdoor fireplace and picnic area, a wood stove, and 4 double-deck bunk beds. Fires should be contained in the fireplace and wood stove, per park regulations. Access the cabin by a 0.9 mile hike-in, sloping gradually downhill, or by a 6 mile hike-in in the case that Skyline Drive is closed. Hikers can take a 0.1 mile connector trail to the AT. 2. Call SNP at 540/999-3500 (option 1, option 1) for Skyline Drive closure information and be prepared to pay the Park entrance fee.
